Pheasants

<< Lady Amherst's Pheasant

Chrysolophys amherstae

These Pheasants are found in South Western China, Northeast, Burma and in Unan's hilly areas between 2100 m. to 3600 m.

They feed on bamboo and other plant buds, small plant and in seeds etc.

Male Pheasant is very beautiful and shiny.

They live in pairs or in family flocks in summer and spring season. In winter they come down to village.

Female pheasant lays 6-12 eggs in litter. Male attains full bloom after 2 years of age.
