Selenarctos thibetanus

Himalayan Black Bear is found in the steep slopes of Himalayas.

In India three types of bears are found and Himalaya's black bear is biggest in size.

This animal is crepuscular & nocturnal in nature and its food varies with season.

Himalaya's black bear thrive on fruits, crops, honey, insets, termites and larvae of beetles and also hunt sheep, goat and even larger cattle's.

Due to habitat destruction, population of this beautiful animal has gone down drastically in the wild.
