This animal belongs to the dog family and is much like its fellow wolves which are found in plains with the difference that it is bigger in size and with wooly coat.

It is found in Tibet, Ladakh and parts of Kashmir up to the snowline.

They live in packs and prey upon wild sheep's, goats and domestic animals.

In wild this animals has become rare due to poaching, poisoning and habitat destruction.
